Robert Mueller just crossed an unthinkable red line.

The special counsel stood in front of the press and made a jaw-dropping announcement.

And Robert Mueller gave Nancy Pelosi some very bad news with this confession.

Robert Mueller finally spoke to the press in a hastily called event on Wednesday morning.

The special counsel used the occasion to wrap up his probe.

But that wasn't all Mueller did.

Mueller finally came out and admitted to the world that he was a corrupt, Trump-hating zealot determined to impeach the President at any cost.

And that is terrible news for Nancy Pelosi because of how many Americans oppose impeachment – 56 percent according the last ABC/Washington Post poll.

During his press conference, Mueller begged Congress to impeach the President.

"And second, the opinion says that the Constitution requires a process other than the criminal justice system to formally accuse a sitting President of wrongdoing," Mueller told the press.

Mueller took this rout because his investigation into Russian collusion and obstruction of justice turned up nothing.

The special counsel and his rogues' gallery of Democrat prosecutors did not turn up evidence of a criminal conspiracy between the Trump campaign and the Russians.

And despite trying to twist the law with ridiculous and unheard on interpretations of the obstruction of justice statute, Mueller came up empty on that count too.

So instead he smeared the President by making the un-American claim that the Trump was presumed guilty and it was Mueller's job to exonerate him.

"As set forth in our report, after that investigation, if we had confidence that the President clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said that," Mueller stated.

Mueller's confession that he came up empty on criminal charges and that it was up to Congress to hold the President accountable supercharged calls from
Democrats to impeach the President.

Mississippi Democrat Bennie Thompson is the influential chair of the House Homeland Security Committee.

Thompson fired off a statement demanding Trump's impeachment following Mueller's act of political character assassination.

"I support impeachment. The President has egregiously obstructed justice. The special counsel did not give any indication that the President is innocent.
Therefore, it is time for Congress to perform its oversight duties," Thompson wrote.

In addition to the rank-and-file, Democrat Presidential contenders Cory Booker, Kirsten Gillibrand, and Pete Buttigieg all called for impeachment.

Democrats running for President know their base demands impeachment, and they want to be with their voters on this issue.

But polls the overwhelming majority of Americans oppose impeachment.

If the Democrats travel down this path, Pelosi knows it will only cause Americans disgusted by the tactic to rally to the President's side ahead of the 2020 election – that’s why Pelosi’s statement after Mueller’s press conference never mentioned the word impeachment.

However, thanks to Mueller's shameless act of political hackery, Pelosi may have no choice.
