Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says Donald Trump winning the 2024 U.S. presidential election would make life tough for Canada and be a 'step back' in relations between the North American neighbors.

Liberal Trudeau had a rocky relationship with Trump during his first term, and  believes re-election will be a 'step back' and 'won't be easy' for his country.

His nervy remarks come just days after a new poll showed 70 percent of Canadians disapprove of Trudeau and is fighting for his own political future

In 2018, Trump accused Trudeau of being 'weak and 'dishonest', and he has been a divisive leader since coming into office.

Trump's 30-point landslide victory in the Iowa caucuses has now cemented his place as the favorite to be the Republican nominee to line up for a rematch with Joe Biden in November.
