Kamala Harris is set to announce her vice presidential running mate by Tuesday. Harris is expected to hold a rally with that pick in Philadelphia on Tuesday. This all before she has received a single vote from any American voter. Instead, her campaign has been orchestrated by Democrat Party elite on a tidal wave of coordinated media buzz.
After the announcement and the Philly campaign stop, the Kamala campaign is expected to "the barnstorm cities in seven swing states in four days," per Politico. Those states include Wisconsin, Michigan, North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona and Nevada, making a point to hit the big, blue cities in those locales. The campaign clearly believes they have a better chance in many of the swing states, which were leaning Trump when Biden sat at the top of the ticket, now that Harris has taken over.
Among those who have been on the Harris ticket's short list have been Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro. Pennsylvania is a key state for Democrats, and Philadelphia is the state's biggest, most leftist city. Others who had been rumored to be in consideration, such as Gretchen Whitmer, have already signaled that they will not be the Democrat running mate. Arizona's Mark Kelly and transportation secretary Pete Buttigieg have also been considered to be contenders. Buttigieg is already a vocal spokesperson for the campaign.
