JD Vance overwhelmingly wins AmFest straw poll for 2028 GOP presidential nominee

The results of Turning Point USA’s America Fest straw poll were released on Monday, revealing that current Vice President JD Vance is overwhelmingly favored to be the 2028 presidential nominee for Republicans. The poll found that 84.2 percent of attendees want Vance for the spot. 

No other figure received double-digit support: Marco Rubio received 4.8 percent, Ron DeSantis received 2.9 percent, Donald Trump Jr received 1.8 percent, Glenn Youngkin received 0.4 percent, and Ted Cruz received 0.3 percent. An additional 2.5 percent were undecided, and 3.1 percent said someone else should be nominated.
