Four Republicans on Wednesday joined 210 Democrats to block South Carolina GOP Rep. Nancy Mace's censure vote of Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar for reposting a video criticizing conservative political activist Charlie Kirk after his assassination.
Mace introduced the censure resolution, quoting a video that Omar reposted and citing an interview the Democrat did that Mace said “smeared” Kirk, NOTUS reported.
Kirk, 31, was fatally shot last week at Utah Valley University during a Turning Point USA event. The alleged assassin, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, has been arrested and charged with Kirk's murder.
The censure resolution would have formally reprimanded Omar and stripped her of her committee assignments.
