Donald Trump thought the Russia investigation was behind him.

The collusion narrative proved to be a hoax and Attorney General William Barr cleared him of obstruction of justice.

But President Trump thought wrong and he was betrayed by the one person he never suspected.

The Senate Intelligence Committee dropped a bombshell when it announced it was subpoenaing Donald Trump, Jr. for additional testimony

Republican Chairman Richard Burr made this stunning revelation just one day after Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell declared on the Senate floor that the Russia investigation was “case closed” and it was time to move.

A source told the Daily Caller that Trump, Jr. voluntarily testified for over eight hours in 2017 and that Robert Mueller and his team of Democrat prosecutors passed on pressing charges against the President’s son.

This source told the Daily Caller that Chairman Burr was letting Democrat Senator Mark Warner – who is a full blown Russian collusion conspiracy theorist – run the committee.

The Daily Caller exclusively reported:

But the source said that when Trump Jr. agreed to testify before the committee in 2017, “there was an agreement between Don and the Committee that he would only have to come in and testify a single time as long as he was willing to stay for as long as they’d like, which Don did.”

The source also took a shot at Burr.

“But no lawyer would ever agree to allow their client to participate in what is an obvious PR stunt from a so-called ‘Republican’ Senator too cowardly to stand up to his boss Mark Warner and the rest of the resistance Democrats on the committee.”

Prominent Republicans denounced Burr’s capitulation to Democrat’s Russia collusion delusions.

Senator Rand Paul wrote, “Apparently the Republican chair of the Senate Intel Committee didn’t get the memo from the Majority Leader that this case was closed...”

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy chimed in with, “.

@DonaldJTrumpJr has already spent dozens of hours testifying in front of Congressional committees. Endless investigations—by either party—won't change the fact that there was NO collusion. It's time to move on. It’s time to focus on ISSUES, not investigations.”

Trump, Jr. has indicated he will not appear before the Intelligence Committee for an illegitimate fishing expedition.

Given the unprecedented criticism by elected Republicans many wonder if Burr will back off this witch hunt.
