Barack Obama is in bigger trouble than he thought.
Attorney General William Barr revealed the scope of his investigation into the “Spygate” scandal.
And Barack Obama just got this one letter that caused him to lose his mind.
Top Justice Department official Stephen Body fired off a letter to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler describing William Barr’s investigation into the origins of the Russian collusion hoax.
The first part of Boyd’s letter described why Attorney General Barr’s investigation was necessary.
“…there remain open questions relating to the origins of this counter-intelligence investigation and the U.S. and foreign intelligence activities that took place prior to and during that investigation.”
But then Boyd dove into the meat of the matter.
The scope of Barr’s investigation was far more extensive than anyone realized.
In addition to reviewing the FBI’s activities, the Justice Department announced Barr was also digging into possible coordination between the Obama administration and foreign intelligence services in spying n the Trump campaign.
“The Review is broad in scope and multifaceted, and is intended to illuminate open questions regarding the activities of U.S. and foreign intelligence services as well as non-governmental organizations and individuals,” Boyd wrote.
This is bad news for Obama.
Many Americans found the story of how Australian diplomat Alexander Downers reported that Trump campaign aide George Papadopoulos told him the Russians had dirt on Hillary Clinton highly suspect.
That the conversation took place in London also raised eyebrows.
Papadopoulos was originally approached by Maltese professor Joseph Mifsud - who Robert Mueller claimed Papadopoulos believed to be a Russian agent - and told that the Russians had dirt on Hillary.
But as more information about Mifsud emerged it became clear that Mifsud was connected to a Western intelligence service - most likely Italy's.
Papadopoulos then related what Mifsud told him to Downer - a diplomat with connections to the Clinton Foundation.
This all smelled like a setup.
Did the Obama administration enlist the aid of foreign government to set up Papadopoulos to provide the FBI a pretext to spy on the Trump campaign?
And if that was the case, what did Barack Obama know about this international espionage operation?
An increasing number of Americans believe that to be the case, and Barr intends to answer those questions once and for all.
