For over two years, criminal leakers within the federal government tortured the Trump administration.
That all could be about to change.

Attorney General William Barr appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee to discuss how he handled releasing the Mueller report.
Despite the media hoopla, the Mueller report is a dead issue.
Nothing about how the report was released changed two central facts: Robert Mueller found no evidence on collusion and did not bring an obstruction of justice charge against President Trump.
The real news coming out of the hearing was Attorney General William Barr putting Obama loyalists and anti-Trump leakers within the government on notice that they will be held accountable for illegal leaks of classified information.
Attorney General Barr revealed this fact under questioning from Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley.
Grassley stated that “leaks undermine the ability of investigators to investigate” and that “leaks to the papers, while Congress's questions to the Department go unanswered, is unacceptable.”
The Iowa Republican then wanted to know what Attorney General Barr was doing to crack down on leakers illegally funneling classified information to the media.
“What are you doing to investigate unauthorized media contacts by the Department and FBI officials during the Russian investigation?” Grassley asked Batt
Barr stunned observers by stating that “We have multiple criminal leak investigations underway.”
The entire Russian collusion fiasco really started with an illegal leak to David Ignatius of the Washington Post in late December 2016.
Someone in the government violated the law by revealing to Ignatius that the government intercepted incoming National Security Advisor Michael Flynn on a phone call with the Russian ambassador.
This call took place after the Obama administration announced sanctions on Russia for alleged election meddling.
The leak allowed Ignatius to smear Flynn as a traitor sneaking behind President Obama’s back to undermine the sanctions.
Many in the media ran wild with the idea Flynn’s call was payback as part of a secret deal with the Russians for their help in the 2016 election.
No one was ever punished for criminally leaking the name of an American citizen picked up on surveillance of a foreign national.
After that, Deep State leakers declared open season on the Trump administration.
But with Attorney General Barr’s announcement, Trump supporters hope that is about to change.
