Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) appeared at the Munich Security Conference on Friday for a debate regarding the rise of populism in various nations. Ocasio-Cortez called for “expeditious” installation of a wealth tax in the US and called to restore funding to USAID, the program that was found to have been funneling billions of dollars in waste out of the US.
When asked by the moderator if she wanted to impose a wealth tax as president, Ocasio-Cortez said, “I don't think that anyone, and that we don't have to wait for any one president to impose a wealth tax. I think that it needs to be done expeditiously.”
