Pressure has been building on Speaker Nancy Pelosi for weeks.
Democrats like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Maxine Waters demanded Pelosi move on impeachment.
And now all hell just broke loose when Nancy Pelosi revealed why she didn’t want to impeach Donald Trump.
Even though Robert Mueller’s report landed with a thud – Mueller found no criminal conspiracy between the Trump campaign and the Russians and Mueller did not charge the President with obstruction of justice – rank-and-file Democrats still want to unleash their hatred on the President in the form of impeachment.
But polls show the country want the Democrats to move and that impeachment is unpopular.
Pelosi can read these polls and knows the Democrats are walking face first into a political buzz saw in 2020 if they open an impeachment inquiry.
So when House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler pressed Pelosi about supporting an impeachment inquiry the speaker tried to douse the fire by proving she hated Trump more than anyone.
“I don’t want to see him impeached, I want to see him in prison,” Pelosi responded.
Pelosi’s outrageous comment came while the President was traveling overseas to commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day.
Politics traditionally stops at the water’s edge, and it is unconsidered unpatriotic to attack the President while representing America in a foreign country.
But the fake news media doesn’t apply those rules to the Democrats.
That’s because the Democrats allies in the corrupt media know Pelosi needs wiggle room to avoid helping President Trump win re-election by letting the Democrats fly off the handle on impeachment.
And Pelosi took advantage of that media double standard to oppose impeachment because she wants to see the President of the United States thrown in jail.
